Living Without A Clue

How much value do you place on a word such as respect? Is it something that can just be given away for free, or is it valuable enough to have to be earned? For different people, respect can mean different things. For some people, respect is given to those certain individuals who they consider worthy of high regard. For others respect is given to everyone no matter what your race, religion, color or creed. The amount of respect between two people is sacred, because it is a building block for the stability of the world. Without respect, people would just do whatever they please, possibly inflicting harm not only to themselves, but unto others as well. Therefore, a world without respect is a world living in chaos. Martin Luther King described this world best in his, "I Have a Dream" speech.

One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination.

People are continuously ousting one another from society with the belief that they are better than everyone else in some contemptible manner. Yet if one is open-minded enough to hold back from judgment for a few minutes, and get to know the other person, they will learn something completely shocking.
