Run Lola Run

Analysis of "˜Run Lola Run' "Run Lola Run" is a modern independent film which is aimed at a teenage audience, due to the issues and troubles which Lola encounters, for example the continuos theme of anti-establishment which is a them that all teenagers can relate to. The film is divided up into three different sections, which are based around 20 minutes of time interpreted in three different ways, a technique which is very unusual in modern filming as it is very rare for the time on screen to be the same as our real time. Films or television series' usually go through at least one day in just half and hour, while "Run Lola Run" actually uses 20 minutes as 20 minutes. By doing this it already enables us to relate with Lola as she struggles to achieve her objective of helping Manni get DM100, 000 in 20 minutes, thus allowing him to pay his drug-dealing employer and also save his life.

In order to do this Lola has to learn from her mistakes, which she makes each time until she can complete the "˜mission' and save Manni from death. This is how the three 20 minute sections link in with the story line, as each time the twenty minutes is over the "˜mission' restarts, until Lola does each thing right and learns form her previous mistakes.

As soon as the film begins we are able to gauge some idea of the film and what the genre of the film is, as a large yellow "˜x' is slashed across the screen.
