S.E.X

SEX! It is everywhere, there are television shows with the name in it such as Sex in the City. It is in the music that teens listen to with lyrics such as ?I want to sex you up.Its In magazine, books, billboards, there is no where you can go without seeing or hearing the word SEX. Without sex, people would not be here today. It's our source of reproduction, and a symbol of love. It's an intimate moment you share with some one special when you feel ready to take that step. Sex is a big deal and should be valued for its meaning. So why don't teens and kids now a-days see it that way? Kids and teens are becoming more and more sexually active, even at younger ages. Sex to them doesn't have any meaning behind it but the word FUN! But maybe it is because they are not being told the consequences of it or the precautions that should be taken before being intimate with someone.

Schools have been teaching abstinence only programs since 1996. In 1996, concern over the high teen pregnancy rate led congress to include legislation in Welfare Reform Act allocating 50 million over 5 years to states that agree to teach abstinence-only education programs in nations public schools. School that accept the funds must instruct students that abstinence from sexual activity is the only certain way to avoid out of wedlock pregnancy, STDs and other associated health problems. To ensure that students receive the abstinence-only message, the legislation prohibits schools from using the grant money to teach students about contraceptives or how to protect themselves from STDs?
