Everyone knows the risks that come with ultra violet light exposure and tanning, but does anyone really know the benefits? Only about a decade ago people were going to the beaches to get burnt. They thought it was the means of a good tan. Today however people now know the risks associated with getting burnt though most do not understand the benefits that sunlight can offer. Tanning salons are teaching the right way to use the ultra violet rays so that it is not harmful but beneficial. They teach about burning, ultra violet rays, benefits of sun exposure, and alternative methods for those who can not tan.

"The golden rule of smart tanning is don't ever burn," that is what the tanning industry is promoting. They are trying to teach people methods of smart tanning (www.tanningtruths.com) Non-tanner burn more frequently than those who tan indoors. "Moderate tanning for individuals that can tan is the smartest way to maximize the potential benefits of sun exposure while minimizing the potential risks associated with either too much or too little sunlight."

Tanning is our body's natural defense against sunburn. Did you know that up to 81% of people are less likely to burn than they were before they started tanning. People who do not receive adequate sun expose are more likely to burn when they do go outside than those who do tan. Someone who is pale white and never tans obviously should not try to because it will only result in burning. Indoor tanning is better than outdoor tanning because it can be controlled no matter what the weather is like where as natural sunlight can never be controlled.
