When the narrator killed the elephant he got psychologically pressure. Some one was support him and others are not. Because

The elephant was huge and it had a great value. The owner of the elephant had lost his great value. It is natural that he would be angry with the narrator.

Though he was Indian he could not do anything because the narrator was sub-division police officer.

The actual reason was that they took it very simple about coolie's death than the elephant death.

The narrator gave a good reason for killing an elephant. He said the elephant became mad and it had no control. The most legal point is that the elephant had killed the coolie.

But we know that, the narrator killed the elephant that elephant was mad and also it had killed the coolie. But the main reason was he wanted to save his skin. He also realized that if there is anything wrong then he would be laughed at by coolie.it was insulted. So he killed the elephant.
