-Do you agree?Sexism has been around for a very long time, prejudice and discrimination involving both men and women will, most likely, always exist. Of the controversial issues concerning the roles of men and women in society, the question of whether women should be allowed to spread the word of God is among them.

Some Christians believe that only men can do the job of spreading the word of god. There are various reasons that lead them to come to this sexist, but understandable conclusion. Some use the fact that Jesus had no women disciples to justify their opinion. They may also put into use the fact that in the Bible God is always referred to only as 'He', thereby allocating the job of spreading the word of God to a male advocate. Furthermore, the Bible clearly states 'I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent'; this only reinforces the opinion that only men should have the privilege of spreading the word of God.

Conversely, there are also many Christians that are willing to allow a female to teach and spread the word of God. They, in turn, have numerous reasons as to why they have their opinion, some, as women, feel it their right to be able to do whatever job they feel like without facing prejudice and discrimination. Others may believe that, due to the fact that Jesus was born into a patriarchal society, he had no choice but to have only men disciples. Moreover, it is stated in the Bible 'So God created humankind in his own image, male and female he created them'. It is also stated, 'There is no difference between man...
