Consider the consequences of poor procurement and list 5 problems caused. Be prepared to explain your answers or provide examples. Nominate a spokesperson to present your groups answers.

Procurement is simply to buy materials, goods and service in the right quantity, quality and from the right source delivered in the right place at the right time at the right price. this can be done in any way an organization wises to especially in the private business sector but Public procurement is the process by which government buys goods, works, services using public fund and these are bound by rules and regulation which abiding by and doing it correctly will make procurement really good and enjoyable . But poorly performing the processes will bring out some consequences like….

1. Inputs may be acquired which are of the wrong quality and which do not satisfy the need. As far as the purchasing department is concern if the input acquire for the internal customers not meet requirement that could cause others department in the organization to be dissatisfied with the performance of the purchasing department and this will course the order department to overlook it and purchase directly.

2. If the quantity supplied is less than the expected your organization may face severe problems especially if the items in question are vital components for production or they are critical repair and operations (MRO) items.

3. If the goods delivered are taken to the wrong location or are lately delivered will cause problems like extra cost of bringing them to the right location, stoppage of production, etc. it can go on to the items even being lost and not found...
