Society would be better off without television. It is adverse to the health of the body as well as the mind.

To many, television offers a welcome reprieve to the vices of daily life. It is readily available and provides a variety of shows. Television is also a learning tool. For example, Sesame Street and the Discovery Channel. However, television also shows many forms of violence that can destroy society as well. Children are exposed to material not appropriate until they are much older. Videogames and cartoons also become a form of addiction and mind stagnation. People begin copying what they see on TV and refuse to think for themselves.

Television is also contributing to the problem of obesity. People are dying because they spend too much time in front of the screen. Tired parents who do not want to bother with their kids after work just put on a TV program to occupy their children.

This constant cycle contributes to the problem. Research also proves that once a person watches television, instinct also causes them to walk to the refrigerator and grab a snack of some kind. This leads to more glutton.

TV should be removed from society.
