Sociology is the outcome of people's search for valid, reliable, and precise knowledge about people and society. It is the Science of society and the social interactions taking place within it. It's emphasis is on the social behavior of the individual within the context of his or her social group or society.

Sociology studies not only the structure and functions of social organizations, but also the changes which take place within it.

We study Sociology to obtain factual information about our society and diferent aspects of our social life. It enables us to understand our society more objectively and to see our place in it. It also enables us to learn the application of scientific methodology.

We can say that Sociology stresses a global-perspective due to the leaps in science and technology, particularly in communications drawing countries closer to it.

Today, Sociology is still relevant especially in a world of increasing globalozation, despite diverse theoretical perspectives.
