Someday...

"If not today,

Someday...

If not tomorrow,

Then Someday...

One of these days

I'll see you again

In the same light

As once did I

In some other life

Someday...

If not this week,

Someday...

If not the next,

Then Someday...

You come and go

As often as you please

You see not that

My pain will never ease

I ask why; the answer's all the same

You are as I remembered and yet

So very much has changed

Someday...

If not this month,

Someday...

If not the next,

Then Someday...

The moon is all that's left

Of a memory so swift

I reach for the blood stained sky

As I climb this agonizing rift

Why, oh, why are all the answers the same

When you are still the you from then

And so very much has changed

Someday...

If not this year,

Someday...

If not the next,

Then Someday...

Trees shed the past each year

With amber tears of life

Why can't I do the same

With my own sea of strife*

The answers, they torment, all so much the same

The only thing that ever truely remains

is change

Someday...

If not this life,

Someday...

If not the next,

Then... Someday...

Then the Shadow will have gone

And with it all the pain it needs

No longer shall it follow

No longer shall it lead**

One of these days

I'll see you again

In the same light

As once did I

In some other life"
