This report will be on the late Stevie Ray Vaughn, an extremly talented musicain. He was a Blues Guitarist who played with many of our great musicians like the king of Blues B.B. king and many others.

Stevie ray was born the 3rd of October at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. His family consisted of his father Jim, his mother Martha and his older brother Jimmy. Stevie recived his first guitar in 1961 he described it as a cheap three-string toy. This toy is what started the magic. The magic known as Stevie Ray.

In 1970 Stevie decided to quit his day job and became a musican full time. A year later Stevie drops out of high school and move to Austin. In 73 Stevie gets with a band called The Nightcrawlers and they head to holly wood for a recording session, with the record company A&M. The album was never made.

The Nightcrawlers went back to Texas. Along the way Stevie finds a beat-up 59 Stratocaster, it became his favorite and signature guitar. He named it "Number One". Stevie grow popular on the Austin club circuit with the band The Cobras. He later left the cobras and formed his own Blues and R&B band called The Triple Threat Revue. One of the members Lou Ann Barton leaves the band so the name changed to double Trouble.

Double trouble and Stevie land many gigs in hot places. Like playing with David Bowie. Playing at private partys for The Rolling Stones. Stevie and Double Trouble sighned with Epic records, and in a mere two days make the awesome album of Texas flood. Texas flood was nominated for two Grammys Stevie was a hit he had more awards than many people could count. He was on fire.

But in "˜86 his abuse of alcohol and drugs caught up with his body and he collapses. In this same years Stevie enter himself in a London drug rehabilatation clinic. While he is in the clinic he recives the bad news of his fathers death. November 15, 1986 he releses another album called live alive.

Once again Stevie is on top of the world playing with such cats as B.B. King, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and many more. He even had the honor of playing for former President G.W. Bush's inagural celebration. He made his first album being drug free it was named crossfire On January 30, 1990 In June, he embarks on a two-month co-headlining tour with Joe Cocker. On August 25, Double Trouble performs at a concert at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. The line-up included Robert Cray, Eric Clapton, and Buddy Guy. After the final encore on the 26th, Stevie boards a helicopter on its way to Chicago. Briefly after midnight on August 27, Stevie Ray Vaughan is killed, along with the pilot and three members of Eric Clapton's crew when the helicopter crashes into a hill. He is buried in a private ceremony at Laurel Land Cemetary in Dallas, Texas on August 31. The mourners include Billy Gibbons Stevie Wonder, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Ringo Starr, and Dr. John along with many others. Outside the chapel, more than 3,000 fans gathered to say goodbye. The magic that was Stevie is gone. Now we just have his talent infused music to remember him by.
