A virtual team is totally different from a meeting somewhere with every team member around you. A virtual team must consist of two or more people working together towards a common goal. Most of the time people in the group are responsible for a certain expertise. .

Building trust

It is difficult to get a team together, especially when one of them could be half a world away. I think setting up times throughout the year for the team to meet and do activities together can establish trust and get to know one another better.

Acceptance of conflict and free to open discussions of ideas

I think this goes into that ol' saying "Treat others as you would wish to be treated".

Everyone argues and demonstrates some form of frustration. It is good to control

yourself and encourage others to do the same. If you disagree fine, don't let you're your

emotions get the best of your intelligence.

Don't avoid a disagreement, instead figure

why there is one.

Gaining Commitment

Learn from your mistakes. Be decisive and make clear action plans and a rational for

decisions.

Building accountability

Have a plan of action. Make sure your plan involves your team with individualized responsibilities clearly assigned.

Encouraging attention to results

Have meetings to view the status and progress of the team and individuals for review.

Reward results.
