Last week we learned about the 6 types of work environments. There's the realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, and the conventional work environment. During the "party," I chose realistic, investigative, and social. When I got my self-assessment results back all of my choices matched, expect one. My realistic work choice didn't match with the self-assessment; it was artistic instead of realistic. At first I didn't understand why, when I hear the word "artistic," I immediately picture a singer or a painter. After reading the description under the artistic category, I realized it was true and accurate. I want to be a dentist, so I have to be an artist. There will be times where I will get patients with no tooth structure and I will have to be creative enough to create one for them. After going over my self-assessment results, I had a better picture of what I want to do in life.

It's tough sometimes, because I want to do something that makes me truly happy. I love helping others, working as a team, but I also like working alone. This class helps me understand others and myself a little better. Last week, I came to the conclusion that being a dentist or doctor is only the profession I picture myself in , so I'm thinking in majoring in Pre-Dentistry. That's for now, because I like to have a goal, or at least know where I'm going, because like you said "A dream without a plan, is just a wish." I decided that I want to be a dentist because I want to be my own boss, but I also want to work with a team. I want to help out others, and being a dentist will...
