The purpose of this report is to state whether buying shares in Suncorp Metway is profitable or not.
The share prices completely drop in 2008. Although in 2012/3 the share prices have started to rise again, they dip and give the general appearance that it will sink again. However, further research shows that at this point all financial businesses did this as shown in the graph to the left (blue line). This is because in 2008 a very special event occurred, although it may not have been very special to some. This event was the Global Financial Crisis (GFC).
