T-Mobile(HU) (The former Westel 900) , The oldest mobile telecommunication company of Hungary was launched on the 31st Marc 1994, with an initial capital of 5.4 billion HUF. The owners of the company (MATÁV, Westel Rádiótelefon Kft and US West) had risen this capital to 'till the year of 1997. The finance was supported by Citibank and CIB.

'Till the end of 1996, Westel won the qualification of ISO 9001. It had a number of 270,000 subscribers.

The technical equipments of Westel were transported by Ericsson.

" User Support Services mission is to reliably connect people, processes, and content through the effective use of standardized technologies and consulting services in support of the university's core mission: provide a quality telecommunication in a costumer-centered environment. "

From 1994 to 1999, Westel 900 had only one competitor, Pannon GSM. In 1999, Vodafone had arrived to the country, so this number had changed to two.

In the beginning, concession contract was set out by KHVM for two mobile providers. From the 25Mhz spectrum of the frequency of 900Mhz, Westel and Pannon were given 8-8 Mhz. MATAV was given an additional 8 Mhz that they use for RLL purposes. In August, 1993, the winners were announced and on the 27th of October, concession contract was signed.
