In the fourth quarter of the year my class read "The Taming of the Shrew". As I read along with the class we also watched an old movie of the play. The point of that was to observe the movie and compare it with the play. When the class and I finished the play and the movie, we saw the modern movie of the play, 10 Things I Hate About You. The play and the movie have had similarities and differences. The first movie was corresponding with the play, but 10 Things I Hate About You was very different, but it stuck to the point of the play.

I was really entertained while reading the intro to The Taming of the Shrew. It was entertaining because of the humorous. The play was mainly about what Petruchio wants, and ends up with, Katherina and the money. Even thought she was a shrew, he tamed her with some of her own medicine.

Petruchio marrying, Katherina was not only for his own benefit, but for Hortensio' s too. Hortensio was the one who supported Petruchio with what he needed to get Katherina so that he can have Bianca. At the end of the play everything comes out well.

The first movie we saw was correspondent with the play. Almost everything that happened was what was going on in the play. I could even follow along with the play in most parts. In the movie, there were some parts that were not really focused on. When Petruchio walked into Baptista's home he was in his own little world looking around the house and that was different from the book. In the book he was in the conversation, but in both the movie and the play he told stopped the suitors...
