It was a sunny spring weekend, when I was about 6 years old, a friend called me for his birthday. When I got there, I saw about 10 kids: that is a very low number for an average birthday party, but it made no difference, because I didn't know any of them. The party was in his apartment so we were clustered in the little red couch watching the soccer game, but suddenly I was hit by the sweet smell of the cake, that made my mouth water. Then my friend's mom called us to sing happy birthday. Everyone hurried to the table, where we saw the beautiful double colored, red and white cake. All 10 kids were singing the happy birthday song in a hurry, because they wanted to continue seeing the never-ending soccer game. I got the first sugary food that I saw; it was the unique and exquisite taste of the Brazilian Brigadeiro.

I already was bored of watching the soccer game so I ate a piece of the delicious vanilla and strawberry flavored cake that melted in my mouth, and went to the playground with the birthday boy.

The hot sun burned my skin like melting butter, drowning me in the afternoon heat. We played for an hour then he went up to his apartment to go to the bathroom and did not come back. I was bored so I decided to swing on the tire, but I quickly stood up because the warm tire felt like a heated rock.
