Transitioning from high school to college was a major step in my life. I was unaware of all the pros and cons college life had to offer. There whee many adjustments that had to be made on my part, such as adapting to a new environment, disciplining myself, and devising a strategy to acheive my goals.

My initial days of college began in a new, exciting, and unfamiliar setting. My mornings were no longer greeted with the sweet alto voice of my general electric alarm clock. Due to the changes that I was going through transitioning from high school to college, I can easily say that high school was my comfort zone. I knew all the rules and has adapted well to the game, but as the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end. In the blink of an eye my carefree life was replaced by something called college.

Now, it is a whole new ball game, and I once again must learn how to play a new and more challenging game.

Discipline and responbility have always been a factor in my life but now they have grown to become an everyday ritual. There is no longer an authoritative figure in my household requiring me to study, go to class, or be home by a specific time. I now have this neutral freedom that allows me to be my own boss and to handle my own affairs. In the first week of school, I soon discovered that it is not possible to attend every party and every class at the same time.
