Description Historical data is collected and stored in the Prober Chief information system. Community characteristics like historical data on numbers and types of responses are included in this body of information. Community characteristics are just one of many factors considered in the creation of potential goals and objectives. Studies are done and information is retrieved as needed to augment the operation. Information is also obtained from the system for particular projects that may have specific or special requirements.

Community demographics are found in the U.S. Department of Commerce Census of Population and Housing for Oklahoma, the INCOG Demographic Atlas Tulsa County, and the Metropolitan Tulsa Chamber of Commerce Tulsa Demographics.

Types of demographics used for Tulsa Fire Department planning include but are not limited to population density, types of housing, age of structures, zoning, socioeconomic factors, traffic loading, age of population, population characteristics and trends, housing characteristics and trends, and educational levels.

Tulsa Fire Department has an ongoing Fire Risk Analysis Program that began in 1989. The purpose of this program is to identify the existing levels of fire risk within the corporate city limits of Tulsa and to recommend alternatives to reduce the identified levels of fire risk.
