Tupac ShakurTupac Shakur was born on June 16th, 1971 in New York City. His mother was one of the members in the Black Panthers and actually was pregnant with her son while being held in a New York prison. He grew up on the West coast in California, hustling on the streets. He came out with his first album in 1993 'I Get Around'. The platinum-selling album which featured Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. He then went to his acting career and was in Juice, Poetic Justice, Higher Learning, Menace II Society, and Above The Rim. Tupac got into some trouble a few times but most of the charges were dismissed on him and he just built up a bad reputation. Then in November 1994, Shakur was found guilty on sexual assualt charges, but the following day after court, Tupac was shot and robbed in the lobby of Quad Studios in New York's Times Square.

Following a shooting incident, Shakur was sentenced to four and a half years in jail on February 7, 1995. The epic Me Agianst The World was released while he was serving his sentence, but still debuted at number one in the US charts. 'Suge' Knight, president of hip-hop's most successful label Death Row Records, had arranged parole for Shakur, who eventually served only eight months of his sentence. Tupac released the sprawling double set All Eyez On Me, which entered the main Billboard US chart at number 1. The album sold over 6 million in it's first year. During 1996 Shakur began his acting career agian, appearing in Bullet and Gridlocked. Then after watching a Mike Tyson-Bruce Seldon fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 8th, 1996, Tupac was gunned down and died five days later.

Tupac's greatest achievment was be coming somthing when his followers and role-models were nothing. He had a great influence on African American life and that was in his music he stressed blacks were so different from whites and nobody would care about blacks or look at them as anything but thugs. His influence on society overall was huge because he did so much from the time he was born to the time he was died ,from movies to rap labels , Tupac had a huge impact on society.
