Twenty-One Little Sisters

Bright lights, screaming fans, girls flying through the air, and the world turning upside down; this is the life I have come to know and love. I have been a cheerleader for seven years and not only has it brought me confidence, leadership skills and, a voice you can hear over nine A.M. traffic. But it has also brought me so many life experiences that have changed me as an individual. It all started when I was in the sixth grade. Janna and Jenna were the Torrey Pines High School demonstration girls "demos" for my Pop Warner cheer team. They were my inspiration throughout my Pop Warner carrier. They also were a huge part of why I decided to become a Torrey Pines Cheerleader. Thanks to them I have been on the team for the past four years. Making the cheer team freshman year was one of the greatest days of my life, but there was also a part of me that wanted to give back to the community and use my talent and passion for cheer to help, encourage and inspire young girls just as Janna and Jenna inspired me.

I have learned that being part of a group, team, sport or community enriches learning, relationships and personal growth. In August 2014 that dream of being part of the cheer and Torrey Pines High School community entered its fourth consecutive year.

With some uncertainty and knots in my stomach the first day of becoming a Pop Warner cheer coach was upon me.
