Art has many different definitions and also comes in many forms, fashions, and ways. This is just a couple of definitions of art that I have. The first definition according to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary (www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary) says that art is a skill acquired by experience, study, or observation. An occupation requiring a knowledge or skills. A decorative or illustrative elements in printed mater. The second definition comes from Encarta Art Concepts and Terms (http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761556523/Art.html) that says art is the product of creative human activity are shaped or selected to convey an idea, emotion, or visually interesting form. And my third definition comes for http://wordnet.princeton.edu/Perl/webum which says that art is the products of human creativity, works of arte collectively, and art exhibition, or a fine collection of art.

1.Painting (www.artincontext.org)This painting is called "The Works" done by Marcus Antonius Jansen. This painting is the second in a series of historical paintings.

This painting captures minority employees at automobile plants, emphasizing their contribution to the Ford Motor Company. This example exemplifies the definition of art because of its creativity and the collectivity of the artwork.

2.Sculpture (http://www.metmuseum.org/Works_of_Art/collection_database/)This sculpture is called "Nymph and Satyr Carousing". It is an 18th century sculpture made by Clodion (Claude Michel). This is a sculpture of a Greek man holding a woman that is poring something onto the mans face or into his mouth. This example uses the definition because it really touches all bases with the definition.

3. Architecture (www.nga.gov/collection/eastarch1.shtm)This is an architectural sculpture of the East Building located in Tennessee. This building was designed by Architect I.M. Pei. This building has massive towers with a connecting bridge to mark the exhibition spaces.
