Yep, the Proxim Symphony products are only 1.6MB/s. That's still faster than my DSL connection, so it's not like I notice. Reception is pretty good, like I mentioned. The AP comes with a weak little antenna and I get great coverage corner to corner in the house.

Here's the way I see the loan working. I'll ship you the stuff, and when you get it, you can PayPal (or some other funds xfer method) the number that shows up on the sticker. I've got enough on my plate that I don't need it for 3-4 weeks. When the month is up (or when you decide it sucks/rocks), you ship it back.

While the stuff doesn't weigh much, I paid very close to $500 for what I'm sending, so I'm gonna insure it for at least $200. That way if it gets lost I can get new 802.11b stuff ;) So that's likely to add another $3 to shipping.

If I was to guess, I'd say that the "free" trial might cost as much as $20 in shipping/insurance both ways. Still, if you go with Symphony over 802.11b, you're gonna save at least $100. And if you decide Symphony is crap, well that's a savings of $100 too :) Let me know what you think.Yep, the Proxim Symphony products are only 1.6MB/s.
