Working as a Team

Introduction: Working effectively as a team can be described as accomplishing something much bigger and more effectively than can be done by an individual. (2005)Assessing effectiveness is very important when dealing with teams and working together to reach a common goal. Believe it or not it can be hard to work in teams with people at times because other issues might get in the way like: egos, productivity, etc. In order for teams to be effective they have to first share a common goal. Harrison states that QWL, quality of life, and well being plays an important part in group work. (citation needed) This can be important if divisions differ substantially from one another. The critical aspects of individual and group effectiveness for diagnosis depend on the primary problems and challenges facing the groups and their main tasks, goals, and standards.

If teams can get over the little problems like egos and whether their teams mates are going to be effective or not and handle the real issues then there is no limit on how effective they can be.

When analyzing the effectiveness of our team we must look at the overall results. Based on the results so far I would have to say that the team was very effective in achieving its set goal. However, the results alone cannot be the only issue to consider when evaluating the overall effectiveness. Was the path taken to achieve these results was not a smooth one? How was the communication between the team members? These questions will be discussed as well as other aspects of the collaborative team in more detail.
