The book assigned by our English lecturer last semester is called "NO LONGER AT EASE". This is a famous novel written in 1960 by Chinua Achebe. The role in this novel is named Obi Okonkwo, a man in the conflict between the traditional values in his country and Western value. The story begins where Obi is under a trial, which confused me at first time! However, when keeping reading I finally realized this part should be put in the last! The major idea is that Obi was looking forward to Western when he heard many they Nigerians called "wonders" of England and he finally made it to study aboard in England. However, the government found him so he must return this money after the end of his education. In addition, when he came back he was offered a job as civil servant from government. It is a wonderful job because the salary he gets in a month is the salary for others in one year and conflict I mentioned above just appeared in his life after his return in Nigeria. Actually, I did not finish the last part of this book and I turn to Internet to see what happened at last. It's not a wonderful ending that he accepted bribery and that's why he was sent to court.
