  • A Father's hard work

    A pleasant speech, you have a way with your words, although there are a few spelling mistakes there, I am sure they are all typos. Truly a good speech. Wish I could write that GOOD for my father :)

    You know...your essay reminds me of the movie "The Animal" where that black guy did all the wrong stuff but no one complains. Your situation looks the same like that guy in that movie except that in your essay, it's rasicm against causasian and not the black..Anyway, this is a well-informed essay. Easy to understand :-)

  • My P.O.I==>I disagree with you :=)

    Well,(1st paragraph)you said that "Capital punishment is a cruel and unusual way to punish those who have committed crimes" But I have to say that it's not true, because when one considers the crimes committed, the Capital Punishments[C.P] like life imprisonment, lethal injection, hanging, or the electric chair are pale in comparison. Many of those sentenced to death were responsible for murders so horrific even seasoned police were shocked.(paragraph6&7)"Capital Punishment is,in every perspective, unethical or unchristian".You said its morally wrong to take the life of another human being. I would like to point out that the holy books of several religions make provision for retribution.I support C.P/death penalty because it gives justice to murder victims and their families.Under the principle of 'an eye for an eye', murderers should be executed in retribution for their crimes.Futhermore, one of the reason most often cited in support of the capital punishment(eg;death penalty) is that it deters crime. According to proponents of the C.P, it does this in 2 ways. 1stly, the execution of criminals deters others from committing similar crimes because they fear being executed.2ndly, it ensures the convicted criminal will never commit another crime.Last but not least, perhaps J.J.Rousseau said it best when nhe wrote in 1762 that "..every rogue who criminously attacks social rights becomes, by his wrong, a rebel and a traitor to his fatherland.By contravening its laws, he ceases to be 1 of the citizens:he even wages war against it.In such circumstances, the State and he cannot both be saved, one or the other must perish.In killing the criminal, we destroy not so much a citizen as an enemy"

    Good points of view you have there, but its pretty difficult to read as you did not write in paragraphs. Its all bundled up in one paragraph, you know..but, anyway, this is a good essay!

    This is a very good essay. You've written most of the things that I've been trying to say all this while[cause I dont know how to put them all together in one essay:-}]I like the part where you said "Laziness causes procrastination and procrastination causes pressure and a man like that would be a failure in this world and to God" This sentence made me realise of what a procrastinator like me will become if I dont change myself.Thanks.

  • Avoiding Homework

    Wow...this is really an evil essay!LOL..well, frankly, I always finished up my homework last minute not because of the avoid-doing-it-excuse, but because i procrastinated doing them when I had the time.For example, when I watch tv, I tend to become a couch potato, I wouldn't even budge from my comfortable chair to go to the study room to do my homework, let alone study.So, I dont have to avoid my homework because i always end up finishing thrm last minute :-)

    wOW, I have never had the initiative/interest to trace back my family's history. I just know the fact that both my great-grandparents came from China. That's all I know, it would be pretty embarrassing if I were to mention it to my friends!Well, the other users commented about gramatical errors in your essay, I hope, in the future, they would correct whatever grammatical errors that they've encountered, so we can all learn from our mistakes. :)

  • Manglish

    Malaysian English a.k.a Manglish is widely used in Malaysia by Malaysian, but I've also came across tourists who knew how to speak in Manglish, especially with the 'lah' word. Another word that Malaysians like to use is the 'mah' word, which they probably "borrowed" from the mandarin language. e.g==> "Dont do like that mar"( Dont do it that way). Some may find Manglish as an amusing/interesting language to learn, but there are also some who finds manglish annoying and prefer 'pure-english'.

  • Abortion

    I like the way you expressed your view about this abortion subject. People dont have the right to judge a pregnant woman or to make decisions for her. I think that everyone should support the individual, for whatever she wants to do, and not to condemned her when she opted for abortion. She, who opted for abortion would have her own view of the pros and cons, it is her right to abort her unborn, not the government's business or any other's.

    I totally agree with what you've said. Without good parenting, there are likely to be some problems with those adolescents. I've heard from many cases that those adolescents without proper guidance/love from their parents tends to be enmeshed in social ills. Keep up the good work.
