This essay is very detailed so therefore I thought that it was good but it does not mention the popular 'social problem films' that were released to highlight issues such as juvenile delinquency, marital conflict etc arising after the upheaval of the second world war. These films that were directly influenced by the documentary films were a fusion between melodrama and docu-drama directed by Basil Dearden who wanted to create realism with a fictional narrative
