A simple thought
This is, by and large, a pretty good writeup of the work. What I would chiefly recommend (and I know I'm guilty of it sometimes, too, though I try to minimize) is that you find a way to avoid the first-person for most academic papers. This is especially true, obviously, if you're submitting them to this site for evaluation and potential adoption by others--because others may not have the same life experiences as you, and while they will share your view on the book it might put them off reading the entire article fully.
