The myth that "I" should not be used in a college level paper is a myth. It is perfectly acceptable to use first person when discussing your own research. If you read any peer-reviewed journal you will note this trend as well.

The citing format is ASA (American Sociological Association), which is very similar to APA. This paper used 19 sources, and is approx 9 pages long using Times New Roman 12-pt font. Please do not copy this paper verbatim. Thanks!

The citing format is "ASA" (American Sociological Association). This class is a senior level sociology course at Georgia State University, and the paper received an "A". It is approximately 5 pages long, double-spaced using Times New Roman 12-pt font. Please do not simply copy the paper. If you wish to cite is, by all means, but do not turn this in verbatim.Thanks!-Noah Kronemeyernkronemeyer@student.gsu.edu

Your paper runs about 19 pages, and uses 10 sources. I like how you made great use of all the sources. What citing format is that you're using? It doesn't look like ASA or APA.

This paper received a 97% in the senior-level class "Sociological Theory." Our task was to write about a non-canonized sociologist, discussing his or her historical & theoretical influences, as well as discuss the impacts of his or work on future sociologists.-- Noah Kronemeyernkronemeyer@student.gsu.edu

This appears well researched. Not sure why someone gave it a "bad" rating.

Kathryn, Where are you getting your sources from? What sociologist's views are you talking about in particular? Goode? Durkheim? I'm also curious as to how up-to-date the stats you quote are. Interesting overview of deviance in relation to crime however.

Decent overview of the new deal. There are a few sentence fragments, and this could be a good start for a more thourough paper on social welfare programs; not only "definitions" and the "history" of them, but perhaps someone could delve deeper into how these programs impacted life on the micro-scale. You could go even further by talking about current issues surrounding medicare and medicaide.

This would be more helpful if the works cited was included for the quotes, etc. Did you take out the text on purpose?
