  • Did you read the essay?

Your comments ignore the fact that I was adressing. This paper is completely devoid of rational arguement and is almost laughable, excepting the seriousness of the issue at hand. Read it with an open mind and try to conceive of this as being a true description of any event or situation, past or present.(Note: This entry was taken from an open letter published by Richard Hugus, and is 100% plagarized, unless Richard is a big Metallica fan)Did you re-read it? I hope you see my point. If you don't, that shouldn't be misconstrued as an invitation to respond with a new post.

  • Apology expected

You did not directly respond to my comment. Do you realize the foolishness of your original comment, based on the fact that "you" was a completely correct usage? If so, you owe the author of this essay an apology. You cannot comb through the essay to discover minor erors in an attempt to save face once you have already proven yourself to be intellectually dishonest by posting a comment that was clearly biased. Poorly written!? If we applied your alleged writing standard to all papers equally, we could solve the debate over grade inflation immediately!!Again- It is clearly inappropriate to call this paper poorly written, and I think you know that, despite any comments you may post.Note: If you feel you must respond to this, do so properly. Apologize to Stephan.

Funny you should be the one critical of other users' grammar. Your work does not approach either this level of scholarship nor this lively writing style. Your attempt to belittle this essay by mentioning petty NON-EXISTENT grammatical errors is offensive to the author of this essay. It is apparent that you simply read the first few lines of the essay and then made your attempt at discrediting a paper that you knew was intellectually impeccable. If you would have actually bothered to try to comprehend what you read, then you would have seen that the use of the word 'you' is contained within a quotation!(After my comment, I think you'll understand that your comment about impartiality is plainly false, too. Just a heads up)

  • Articulate yet empty

To Mr. Sammy Katz: You can't just go around ranting about anti-semitism and anti-israel sentiments being one and the same. That is not always the case, although one could probably make a good arguement otherwise. In a forum such as this one it is most effective to meet antagonists on a higher level, that of intelligent debate. In this case, the author obviously got confused and used the wrong satndards of international relations to asses the U.S.-Israel relationship. He decided not to use logical, documented and accepted scholarhip and instead resorted to mindless drivel. Please excuse him.

  • Confusion

Help me understand how this work got any positive feedback. There is no arguement contained here, just a random collection of facts, not all of which support the author's original (although left unfounded) claim.

I can tolerate intelligent debate over sensitive topics; in fact, I welcome it. However, this drivel is so incohesive and unfocused that I was offended on an intellectual level, apart from the gross oversimplification of such a complex subject. This paper cannot be a help to anyone, and I suggest that it be removed lest some unfortunate soul find himself dumber for reading it.

  • Correction to the meaning of "Israel"

The semitic word for "Israel" is Yisroel, a conjunction of 'Yisrah' (to prevail) and El (~the divine). Jacob was given this name after he wrestled with the angel and prevailed over the divine being.

Good compilation of facts, but nothing you can't get from a simple search on Google. Also, repeating minor facts (2100 inspectors) is useless. For a tenth grade essay, it's not as bad as the ratings will indicate.

This is, as the title proclaims, an explication of a passage. It is helpful in deciphering a particular part of the Odyssey, as well as demonstrating how a single passage contains a more global theme.
