  • This is the author a year later...

I have just read over my understanding of "Determining Destiny". I wrote this poem my Senior year of high school. I am now a Junior in college. After having read this to myself I have established that people DO mature and grow on their own but as we young ones get older and really have to learn to be independent, that's when we learn exactly how much we need others. I now understand what it is to be broke, not have money to just spend on various personal luxuries, and the actual feeling of lonliness. All of these things have humbled me in my quest for a better understanding of my life. I know now that I need people and MY FAITH, moreso now than EVER. Since writing this essay I have made a few adult decisions of my own as well as a few adult mistakes. It's hard out there and who you turn out to be depends on so much more than people, religion, or your own personal drive. "Stuff" HAPPENS... there are just some things that you personally cannot control and you can only hope and pray that you will be the one that comes out on top of the situation. Your life does depend on YOU soley... It depends on the mistakes YOU make as well as the decisions that promote wealth. My key to life holds very true to my heritage: I just wanna Live, Laugh, and Love. There'll be a great deal of BS in between that will help determin when, where, and why, and who I live, laugh, and love, but HEY... That's the FUN part. Don't think TOO hard...ENJOY JUST LIVING.

  • The plot thickens?

The plot should thicken a little more. There's a great deal of running, then more running, followed by more running. Running aside, this was a very good essay. It was very descriptive, very suspensful... probably due to all the running. :) Good Job.

  • Another winner.

You really are a magnificent writer and you would be insane to believe otherwise. I only wish I had half the literary knowledge that you have engulfed. Once again awesome work. I only wish I knew the mind behind these works a little better, just for my own benifit. I am so intrigued by you and your perceptions. I can only hope that you will continue to contribute your words to this site so I can remain entranced. To say the very least... good job.

  • Trying too hard.

I feel that the author of this essay was trying entirely too hard to write like someone else. His or her essay was too wordy, the premise was very basic. I wish I knew the grade level on this peice because I may not be so harsh if this were a sixth grade peice, but high school or college level... oh no..
