For one thing, the colonies were not self-sufficient by the eve of the revolution, they were just beginning to think like americans and be unified towards a common goal. They relied heavily on France for supplies and money, and after the revolution went through a huge depression because of the end of trade with British West Indies.Other than that small mistake, you are correct in saying that they were more unified than previously. You may have wanted to mention the Albany Plan and how it failed, though, as a sign of disunity in the 1750s. Pretty well written.

This essay is pretty well written, but it would not get a nine on the AP US history exam.Also, introduction and conclusion leave a little to be wanted. Usually it's not the best idea to "sit on the fence" so to speak. You should probably choose the side that you have the most evidence for and show the change over time to get to that point.Essentially, from the Albany plan being rejected to all the colonies joining together against the Stamp Act, Townshend Acts, and eventually declaring indepencence.

I like the fact that you relate the Scarlet Letter in the novel to some prejudices bourne in today's society. But yeah, watch those things chickensoup and cecile said.
