  • Question

Did you actually read and compare the texts of the two. The words spoken, parables used, and so on, by the Buddha and Jesus are very similar. Some even almost word for word. The basic teachings of both men run parrellel to each other. Even aspects of their lives were the same, such as both were immaculately concepted.

  • What if Jesus did not DIE on the cross

You missed the most obvious option. If he survived, of course people would have seen him. Would it be so hard to believe. The burial is questionable, especially when compared to the raising of Lazerus from the dead. When taken off the cross Nicodemus, and Joseph of Arimathea wrapped Jesus up in a mixture of myrrh and aloes weighing abvout one hundred pounds. That is not a Jewish burial custom. Why would you wrap a dead person in healing plants like aloe vera? How could Jesus have died after only three hours when it takes most three days? Why didn't they break his legs like the other two criminals? Too many things that just contradict each other. If he did survive he would have had to flee from there before word spread too much. Perhaps he went back to where ever it was he appeared from in his early 30's. Where ever he was during the 18 years that we learn nothing about in the Bible, have you ever wondered about those years that shaped his life? You really should.

  • Nice essay

I liked that you pointed out the fact the reason to go to school is to learn. It's not about grades, it's about understanding the material. Cheating is just evidence that one doesn't understand and cares only about grades. Which helps no one.

  • Nicely Written, but missed suggestions

Since the tradional family is breaking down in society, a focus on non traditional healthy families was needed to balance the essay. A good example would be families headed by gays and lesbians.

  • Good Job

Very well written. Good incorporation of Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experience. An explanation of the experiment for those who are unaware of it would have made it even better.

  • Good Points

Well written and securely backed up. An enjoyable read which also includes both sides of the argument. A personal add on from me; Ever wonder if it's illegal for profit? If ill patients were just allowed to die, then the pharmacutical companies and healthcare providers would be out alot of money. And since this country is all about capitalism, the loss of money would be worse than someones pain and suffering to many business people and politicians.

  • What about similarities

Mentioned is the differences in the way people practice the two religions. It is the interpretation over time and space that has made these religions so different. But what about the many similarities between Buddha and Jesus. Jesus never once said he was G-d, only in the respect that G-d is part of all of us. Many of their teachings, parables, miracles, and life experiences were the same. Like the fact that they were both immaculatly concepted, both were tempted by the devil, and both used the story of the widow at the place of worship who gives all she has meaning more than the rich giving some of what they have. Researching the life of Jesus, not just what the Bible says, it almost seems that he himself studied Buddhism. The connections between the two are too great to be just a coincidence.
