You write well, and the story is creative. However, I thought both Jonas and Gabriel died at the end (this may not be mentioned in the book, but I think it is what the reader is supposed to conclude) of 'The Giver'.Commenting on the plotline, I think that the citizens in 'utopia' are too used to living a perfect and controlled life, and would not cope with the memories or turning into 'New York City'. The teleporter is not very likely either.
