The Interpretation of Dreams

Freud looks at dreams, mainly using his own, and those of his patients with psychoneuroses, as data sources. From his findings and theoretical proposals he concludes that all dreams are representative of a wish-fulfillment (even those that are apparently accompanied by anxiety and 'unpleasure'). Furthermore he introduces ideas of regression, in light of the preference for material from one's childhood in dreams. He also introduces his ideas of infantile sexuality, the Oedipus Complex and the three level personality structure ... of the Id, Ego and Superego, and their place, in the interpretation of dreams.
