Birth of Jesus

Jesus Christ is the biggest event that changed the world as today, millions of people are Christians because of his birth, and no other event has managed to influence so many people. Therefore this had to be the biggest event that changed the world as it has an impact on so many of people today and in the past.

Invention of the Internet

Today, the internet is one of the most important tools used, as we use it for all kinds of things, including homework/research, computer games, emails, social networking etc. Therefore, the invention of the internet has changed a lot of people's lives.

The smallpox vaccine

Smallpox was the deadliest disease in history, killing around 400,000 Europeans every year and killing almost 500 million people in the 20th century. A vaccine was found, and has eradicated smallpox, the only human infectious disease to have been eradicated.

Barack Obama is elected US president, its first black president.

When Barack Obama won the presidential election in 2008, he was the first black president to be elected. Equal rights for black people have been fought for many centuries, especially in America. An example of this is Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream" speech. Electing Barack Obama was therefore an event that changed the world.

World War II

This event changed history. It was during this war where the rise of nuclear warfare was taking place as it included: the making of the atomic bomb and the bombing of Hiroshima.
