Some people are not aware of what ADD is and are oblivious to weather they have it. What is ADD? ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder. ADHD for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is another term for ADD. They are the same thing, though ADHD is the official name which doctors use.

ADD is something that kids, teens, or adults can have. This does not only affect kids but also adults and teens. There are many people with ADD that have a hard time paying attention to just one thing, or keeping their mind on the most important thing. This is being distracted and not being able to focus on what you want to focus on. It is as if your mind jumps from one thing to another and you lose track of what you were doing. For example, you can start doing one thing, like your spelling homework, then start playing with a toy and forget all about the spelling homework.

Many people with ADD tend to lose their patience quickly, or they get bored extremely fast. They can get very impatient and hate waiting in lines or waiting their turn in games or group activities etc. Many kids with ADD are somewhat hyperactive and always on the go. They may feel antsy or fidgety a lot and have trouble sitting still for a long time. If they sit in one place they can get bored easily and tend to start moving fast, and they feel better if they can just stand up or move around from time to time.

It can be very frustrating to a kid when a parent or teacher starts yelling at them a lot and start say things like "how many times do I have to tell you to slow down?" or "why can't you...
