QUESTION1 "Zimbabwean women render themselves vulnerable to

abuse by male religious leaders." Discuss

When one takes a close analysis of the abuse of women by male religious leaders in Zimbabwe can notice that women render themselves to abuse but those male religious are much initiating the abuse of women. Women tend to share much of their private life and secrets to pastors and prophets because of faith and trust they might have in the male religious leaders. On the other hand religious leaders are preying on vulnerable women who are desperate instead of praying for them there by abusing their power and authority which result in the abuse of women. Religious leaders are failing to have boundaries and take their responsibility of helping the disadvantaged rather than taking advantage of them.

In most cases of women who fall victim of abuse are those who share their private life with those male religious. Women render themselves to abuse since they sometimes ask for free time so that they can share their problems privately with their religious leaders. The problem is that men dominate religious leadership posts so women much of the time bring their issue to male leaders. These women may tend to share their intimate issues that end up putting them to risk of being of molested by those leaders and to make matters worse they comply with those leaders. ( Fortune M. M, 1999, px11) sometimes women feel it possible to share their marital problems with their pastors, bishops or prophets and even traditional religious leaders. This makes it easy for immoral religious leaders who feel it possible to abuse the needy.
