Alternative Education

There are a number of alternative school options but with this there are a number of organization designed and put in place to help. They can help in a number of reason weather it would be training for the teachers or where to go for answer for a parent looking for more information.

The Alternative Education Resource Organization (AERO) provides a number of services when it comes to alternative education. AERO was founded in 1989 by Jerry Mintz. Over the years he has lectured on AERO not only in the United States but also, in France, England, Russia, Denmark, Holland, Ukraine, Japan, and Austria. Consultation for parents trying to choose which alternative is best for their children. Provides support and help to families that wish to homeschool. Set in place curriculum and communities for learning. Organize groups on how to start new alternative, learner and create curriculum, and teach history of education alternatives.

AERO is the central hub of communications in the area of alternative education. Their main focus is on the encouragement of creating new alternative to help make changes to the existing programs and schools.

AERO is a non-profit organization for the advancement of centralizing the approaches of education and there Mission is: "Building the critical mass for the education revolution by providing resources which support self-determination in learning and the natural genius in everyone."AERO gives information on the following: public and private alternative schools, charter schools, and home schooling. Their long-term goals are to become involved with software, books, on-line services, consultations, and other services.

The AERO have ten questions a parent must ask to determine if their child needs or is ready for an alternative education:
