The ancient Egyptian civilization was one of the greatest civilizations of the world. There are so many reasons why their civilization was great and why it lasted so many years. Do you know some of the reasons? Well I am going to tell you some of them.

Two reasons why the Egyptian civilization was important was because they knew how to build amazing buildings and because they knew how to do mummification. The ancient Egyptians were so talented at building pyramids that about 80 out of 100 pyramids still stand today! The ancient Egyptians also knew how to mummify people so well that preserved mummies are still around today. You can see some of them in museums. The mummification process took about 60 days. It was done by priests.

The Egyptian civilization was also one of the greatest civilizations because they had many things back then that we still use today.

For example they had invented one of the first forms of writing which was called Hieroglyphics. Hieroglyphics was a type of picture writing. A few more things that the ancient Egyptians had that we still use today is the basic number system, and the 365 day calendar. One thing they did that we still do today is water traveling. They would water travel across the Nile River.

The Egyptians of long ago had occupations that we still have today. Some of them were: sculptors, painters, potters, weavers, ship builders, leather workers, jewelry makers, and farmers. The people that had these jobs made many things that are still around today including: jewelry, pots, bowls, jars, statues, and much more.

Another reason that the Egyptian civilization was one the greatest is because they were so advanced for their time. One thing that was very advanced was the idea for market...
