Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl is an autobiographical account of Anne and her family during World War II. Anne Frank was an intelligent young girl who loved to write. She kept a diary of her life while living in the "Secret Annex". The story is sset in Amsterdam,Holland from 1942-1944. it is the story of a young teenage girl and her troubles of living in a close quarters with two other families, and their fears of the future.

Anne was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, HGermany. On january 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany. That summer the Fraks left Germany and moved to Amsterdam.

On lLUne 12, 1942, Anne's thirteenth birthday, she received a red cloth covered diary, and she began writing in it almost every day. Nearly a month later her sixteen-year old sister, Margot, recieved a call-up from the Nazis.

Her family immediately contacted mr. Van Daan and his family ot discuss wether they should go into hiding yet. later that night Meip, (an office friend) and her husband henk, collected their belongings to take to their hiding place in which Anne later named the "Secret Annex". It was actually an abandoned area of the office building where her father worked. At seven thirty the nest morning they left in the pouring rain with their school satchels filled with clothes and schoolbooks. All that day without making a noise they fixed the attic up so that the room was "one giant picture" as she wrote.

The next week the Van Daan's joind them with their fifteen-year-old son Peter and his cat Mouschi. Anne could tell she didn't like Mrs. Van Daan by the way she always talked about her belongings that were the "best that money could buy". She wasn't...
