The short story "Friends" is written in the third person omniscient point of view. The omniscient point of view means that I, as the author, know what goes on in each of the character's minds. In this story this is very helpful because it is about two pairs, so four people and the two pairs love each other. To help the reader understand how each person feels about the other one, the omniscient perspective is the best.
