Organizational behavior is the study of individuals and groups in organizations. The study of organizational behavior is devoted to understanding individual and group behavior, interpersonal processes and organizational dynamics with the goal of improving the performance of organizations and the people in them (Schermerhorn, Hunt, Osborn, 2007, pp. 5). Organizational culture is the internal environment of an organization, the shared beliefs and values that influence organizational behavior (pp. 11).

There are many aspects of organizational culture that determine the overall tone of organizational behavior. The purpose of this paper is to identify different aspects of organizational culture in different organizations and then compare the differences that the same aspects have on different organizations.

Knockout BurgersKnockout Burgers is a family run restaurant with two locations in North San Diego County. Knockout plans to open two more locations within the next six months; having consistency in procedures is essential to establishing ethical standards, dress code, conflict management and standards for communication.

Having the proper technology in place is also a necessity in order to manage all locations efficiently and profitably.

Communication is important in all aspects of the business. Whether with employees or customers, communication should include expectations and standards that must be adhered to. Diners have expectations when they come in and these concerns should be addressed by staff to insure satisfaction and encourage a return visit. Within the organization communication is maintained through company memos and an open line of communication between management and staff. In this manner, all employees feel comfortable with the communication process so the utmost quality can be maintained.
