1.0 Introduction

The purpose of the assignment is to ensure the library and referencing skills required for the postgraduate assignments. It also focuses on developing critical thinking skills. The summary of three articles are presented each of the articles are analysed and compared within the textbook. Some arguments are offered in this assignment to show the different point of views in management knowledge.

2.0 Bite the bullet, dear CEO

Harish Bijoor, the author of the article, stated that the difference between business theories and real world. Experience sometimes is more useful in the first-line workplace. The market knowledge management process in organisation is run in a filtered 'upward cascade' manner so that many useful suggestions and information can not pass to the decision-makers.

2.1 Summary

There is an old saying that nothing could replace market knowledge. Everything there is to learn about markets and consumers has to be learnt from the experience and step into the marketplace.

There is no permanent way of learning about the market and consumer. The only permanent thing in life is change. Harish Bijoor further explained that the best way of knowing a market is living in it like a consumer out there. That is the reason why experience is so important in the business world.

Knowledge management within brand organisations is pretty hierarchical. The salesman occupies the lowest rung in the organization. He/she is the front-face, the first-line of touching market and the richest in terms of market understanding. He is the least empowered one to act as well. The 100 per cent knowledgeable salesman reports to a Supervisor who is about 70 per cent as the salesman. The 70 per cent knowledgeable Supervisor reports to a manager who is possibly 40 per cent market-knowledge linked. He in turn reports to a general manager...
