How would you justify or criticize authoritarianism and totalitarianism in the development of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy? I. Introduction Totalitarianism is a kind of autocratic rule that appeared after the First World War, with the most obvious example of Nazism and Fascism. In this essay, I would first point out the weakness of authoritarianism and totalitarianism. Then, I will use Germany as an example to illustrate the advantages of authoritarianism and totalitarianism can overwhelm the disadvantage of them. Moreover, I will prove that the failure of totalitarianism deal to the defeat in war, but not the weaknesses of themselves.

Body (a) The definition of authoritarianism and totalitarianism (i) One party rule (ii) Ideology (iii) One man rule (iv) Terrorism (v) Dictatorial power over all social institution (vi) Control of communication (vii) Control of economic aspect (viii) Anti- intellectualism P.s The difference between authoritarianism and totalitarianism is that the level of the authoritarianism is not as extremely as totalitarianism.

(b) The disadvantages of these two ideologies (i) The growth of discontent ---Ã revolt (ii) Stalemate in political improvement (iii) Low level of intellectual (c) The advantages of these two ideologies (i) The growth of economic (ii) The efficiency in decision-making (iii) The growth of military power (iv) The unique in intellectual aspects P.s. The reason why the advantages of these two system overwhelm the disadvantages of them is these two system can transform a weak country into a strong and rich country. The failure of these two ideas was mainly deal to the strategic mistake of the ruler.

(d) The examples to illustrate the above idea.

(III) Conclusion To conclude, it is fair to say that these two systems are a good system towards a country, it can enhance the power of a country and give way for it to be superior to the others.
