The Bear Went Over the Mountain

The main character, Hal Jam, was extremely intelligent. He showed his intelligence many times throughout the story. Before I show you how Hal Jam showed his intelligence, I must first explain a little bit of background information on the story. The story starts out in a forest, where an aspiring writer leaves a briefcase, containing his story, under a tree. A bear happens upon this briefcase, and reads the first couple of pages of the story, deciding he likes the story, he runs off with the briefcase, and the story. He breaks into a man's house and steals some clothing, and then (keep in mind, this is a bear), runs off to a diner to eat some food, which he pays for with some money he stole. While at the diner, the bear decides to make the story his, but he would need a name.

The bear first shows his extreme intelligence here, in using his resourcefulness. The bear looks around and sees, none other than, half-and-half sugar, and some strawberry jam. He cut it short to half, wait that's to long, his first name would be, Hal. Now a last name, the strawberry jam now, Jam. Now the bear, with a human name, runs off to editors, publishers, and producers. The story, which, he found under a tree, is now published, by a bear named Hal Jam, his intelligence strikes again. The middle of the story shows the bear's adventures with "lady friends" and the publishing of "his" book. Towards the end, the original writer of the story, Arthur Bramhall, begins to go insane because his book was stolen, he starts living in caves, searching for the bear that stole his book (he knows that the book was stolen by a bear...
