Being a Medical Assistant

When I decided to further my education, I didn't know what I wanted to do; I was very confused. The mistake that I made was going to a trade school without checking the school out first. The school that I attended was called Arco Wielding Institute. I founded out after the school received the grants and financial aid, the school was closing. I was devastated; that's when I decided to go to a career counselor. The counselor and I talked about some career choices I might be interested in taking up. Also looking at some schools and checking them out so I won't make the same mistake that I made before. We started talking about the health field; I knew that was what I wanted to do. I decided to go to school for medical assistant.

Furthermore being a medical assistant requires a person will learned a variety of medical and nursing skills such as; Phlebotomy, medical transcript, radiology, ultrasound, and many other department in the health field.

What a person is require to have become a medical assistant is; a high school diploma or G.E.D, and attend an accredited trade school. Also, you would have to take the state exam and score a 100 % on the written and clinical part of the test. Once you past the test, you will be a certified medical assistant.

Some of the duties I performed were taking vital signs such as; taking blood pressures, pules, and respiration. Also I would do venipuncture, Electra cardiograms, and ultra sounds. Whichever procedure I would perform, I would first have to let the patient know what I was doing. The patient's rights are real important when working in the health field. I must show professional courtesy at all times.
