BeowulfBeowulf is a hero. By definition, a hero is a man of exceptional quality. A hero is a person who is endowed with great courage and strength and is one who has risked or sacrificed his or her own life. Exceptional quality does not begin to describe the hero that Beowulf is. Beowulf could be described better as a saint, or a savior. His self-imposed purpose in life is to help others, and eventually he scarifies his own life in doing so. In the movie, however, I disagree with his actions. He fights for the good of his people, but he tends not to be as heroic. Heroism, as shown, is portrayed differently in the story and the movie. Beowulf in the poem, is a perfect example of a hero, but the movie Beowulf falls sadly short of the definition of hero.

Beowulf is a heroic man and this is shown though his actions in the story.

Beowulf is a leader and he decided to take charge. He went to his people and he decided to go and fight the evil. Beowulf did this for many reason. He first wanted his village to look up to him and he also wanted to be a hero. In the movie, a young boy, who was the king's son, came to the kingdom and said that they need men to help them fight and protect the people. One of the person who was there, known as the witch, mentioned there must be thirteen men who must go and fight. Beowulf them decided to be o the first to volunteer to go to battle. In my opinion, I feel the story Beowulf was a braver man. He is a take charge person and makes sure the job will get done.

Like the movie...
