BLACK GERMANS

On Friday April eighteenth a presentation on black Germans was

given in

the School of Business. The presentation began promptly at one. The key

speaker was a black native German. He was an old man who had lived

through

World War One.

The speaker although not very fluent in english got his message

across. He

began by telling the history of blacks in Germany. The history of blacks in

Germany

dates back to as far the Roman Empire. During the region of the Kaiser

Gremany

was one of the last countries to gain its share of colonies in Africa mainly

south west

ern Africa. Countries known today as Namibia, Tanzania, etc. Many black

males

settled in Germany permanently and established families. During World

War one

France used black soldiers. Germans used this fact to spread propagoda

about black.

Distrust of black grew.

In nineteen thirty-five the Newnberg Laws were

established.

These laws were developed to seperate the non-aryan races from the Aryan

race. The

non-aryans consisted of Jews, Negros, and a people known as Gypsies.

Marriage

between non-aryans and aryans was illegal. Laws said all non-aryans had to

leave

secondary schools and colleges. All non-aryans could not work in the school

admin

istrations. Physical appearance was the qualification for Aryans. German
