Blindness...
The whole novel keeps the question "what if" in the back of your mind. You constantly wonder what if this really happened? What would I do? Well the world might just find out! SAARs the latest disease is very fatal and unfortunately very contagious. New York is already thinking about quarantining carriers of the disease as written in the Washington Post in the article Quarantine Island. Could this revert back and in some way parallel with Jose Saramago's mind-bending novel Blindness? In which as many carriers are quarantined as possible, but the disease still spreads; people revert back to civilization's behaviors unknown to the world today.
Setting-
The girl with dark glasses says something in blindness that shows how the word character is used in Blindness by Jose Saramago.
"Inside us there is something that has no name, that something is what we are."
This quote shows the true way character is used parallels to this book.

The girl with the dark glasses also says, " ... the feelings with which we have lived and which allowed us to live as we were, depended on our having the eyes we were born with; without eyes feelings become something different." All the characters were very dynamic because as they and the people around them became blind they changed to adapt. All of the characters were nameless and faceless in the sense they were only referred to by their distinct characteristics.
